The JaYmes Story
My first DJ experience was at the age of 9 when I played to a bunch of people my own age at a kids party. At the age of 12 I started doing regular mobile gigs in Cornwall, mainly at sports clubs, and for weddings and parties. At 17 I moved into clubs, after getting fed up with dragging tons of equipment around for peanuts. Clubs also meant a higher standard of music, especially at that time during the peak of the rave scene in 91-92. In October 1994 I became the resident DJ at The Venue, Bath, where I also worked behind the bar.
I’m always seeking work anywhere, as I’ve always played in a variety of venues I have no particular music policy when playing out, and can cater for a wide range of crowds in a wide range of venues. Techno, Hard House and Drum n’ Bass are notable specialist areas, and I also have a vast experience of crowds who just want commercial dance or party music. My DJing philosophy
is entertainment, and I aim to entertain any crowd that gets thrown in front of me.
